The HOV Lane Is NOT For A Leisurely Sunday Drive

When it comes to being behind the wheel of an automobile, there is probably nothing worse than getting stuck behind somebody in the HOV lane who appears to be out for a Sunday afternoon pleasure drive - there is surely no worse driving experience. The whole idea of this lane, or any other lane intended for people who at least wish to go the speed limit, is to get from point A to point B as quickly and efficiently as possible. The intention is not to be stuck in the HOV lane with no way to pass the slowpoke in front of you and watch the congested traffic in the regular lanes beside you pass you by. Whenever I find myself in this situation, every mile traveled feels as though an inch of a nail is being driven deep into my skull. If people who seem to have a fear of the gas pedal get behind the wheel of a vehicle, then perhaps they should stay out of the lanes where they will impede the progress of those of us who want to get to where we are going on time.
