Sport psychology explains how parents can make a child hate sports

posted on 20 November 2011

I love my parents. I just do not like how they pressurize my younger sister to do what she does not even like. I played tennis when I was young and I liked it. I am a pro tennis player and I work really hard at maintaining perfect scores. My sister is not a sportive person. She can play tennis but not as a competitive sport. She has been convinced my father to play tennis and every time she resists he compares her to me. He keeps on telling her that if she does not play tennis she will never be any good. So, one time she ran away from home and came to bank at my dormitory at university. I had to inform my parents that she was safe. When I was talking to my father he asked me what is sports psychology because my sister had left a note telling him to figure out what that was. I told him that the psychologist in sports would tell him the same thing that I was telling him. My sister was not a competitive athlete. She plays tennis for fun and she does not like the same things that I like.

Birthday presents for girls vary with age of the girl

posted on 7 October 2011

My god daughter's fourteenth birthday is coming up and I do not know what I should get her. Her father, who happens to be my best friend, refuses to give me a good gift idea because he is afraid that I will steal his idea. People assume that it is easy to shop for girls, well they thought wrong. If it is, then they should give me a clue on how I am supposed to shop for the most special girl in the world. When she was younger it was easier to get her a gift. When girls are young, birthday presents for girls are easier to get. I would just go to the toy shop and ask the sales person on duty which was the latest doll that kids were crazy about. I would also spend time with her and notice that her obsessions with toys would vary from time to time. So I spent time with her and realized that she wanted a phone or an ipod. Her mother, wisest woman alive told me not to get phone because the father already got her that. So I got her an ipod.

Photography Has Been a Big Part Of My Whole Life

posted on 24 September 2011

While some people make a career out of photography - for example, a colleague of mine who is a wedding photographer in Berkshire - others like myself have made a hobby out of it. Photography has always been a big part of my life. Since youth, I was always given the creative freedom of having a camera. My dad had a dark-room in our basement so I was familiar with the developing process. I got my first camera quite young. Times have changed now and film seems to be a thing of the past yet I still enjoy photography. I got my first digital camera while visiting the Redwood Forests in California and that was an amazing experience taking pictures of gigantic trees and banana slugs. I like to play around a lot with digital photography as well by layering photos, and working with photo programs. Now I enjoy taking pictures of spiders, bugs, flowers, wild mushrooms, people and landscapes. I enjoy capturing great pictures of children on film as well and often ask friends if it's OK if I bring my camera along. Many babies first got to know me behind the camera lens. Photography will always be a part of my life, I can't imagine not taking photos.

Bridesmaids gifts are just a sign of appreciation

posted on 6 September 2011

Women like appreciating their friends especially their bridesmaids who play a very major role in making sure that the wedding goes well. Weddings are very tedious especially if there is no wedding planner. Most women do not like hiring wedding planners because they are always in a tight budget and having a wedding planner can be very expensive though less stressful. Anyway, my sister's wedding was a success because her bridesmaids worked really hard to make sure that it was a perfect day. I was her best bridesmaid so I know how hard they worked to make sure nothing got wrong. When she got married and left for her honeymoon, we all got to breathe finally. Whilst she was at her honeymoon, we all received packages from her. She had made a beautiful silver sculpture that had the words ''thank you for making my day special'' engraved in it. Well this is the best bridesmaid gifts I have ever received. She was aware of how helpful we were and it was good to be appreciated.

What You Need to Know on Lake Texoma Guided Fishing

posted on 25 August 2011

Lake Texoma is one of the only seven lakes in the country that has thriving large quantities of anadromous fishes. This spot has been dedicated by the government to be the spawning ground for striper fish in the 1960’s, and the project was indeed a success. Now, novice and professional anglers from different states are attracted to this lake, particularly to enjoy the thrills of striped bass fishing. Getting to know the lake is a good starting point. The lake is located between the states of Texas and Oklahoma, hence the name. This area houses different resorts, campsites, and marinas, as well as various fishing guides. Hiring a guide for your fishing trip is a wise move, precisely because guides are well-trained in this craft and therefore can assure you not only good quality time with big catches on your pails but ultimate safety as well. Most of these guides will provide the necessities for a reasonable price all you need to bring is your packed lunch or snacks. And please be reminded that Lake texoma guided fishing requires fishing license so might as well secure one before jumping into the boat.

Why parents should know sports are good for children

posted on 18 May 2011

Children are people you will wish to spend the whole day with because they are funny and can’t make people angry. Children can spend the whole day playing games without getting tired. Children hate to be closed in the house all the time because they always want to play with other children. When at house they are bored but when playing outside with children are active and joy can be seeing in their faces. Those parents asking what is sports psychology should visit doctors in hospitals and will get to know how games are important to children at their young age. Games helps them to know how to share with people without fear because they will be free to share anything with other children and as they grow up will not have problems with expressing themselves. They will be in a good place to socialize with people from different places and regions. Parents should give permission to children to play because it’s good for their health and they will be free from diseases and strong bodies.

Less Injuries Thanks to Our New Artificial Pitch

posted on 12 May 2011

There's nothing more feared in football than the mistimed tackle. When you factor in 20 outfield amateurs running at full pelt on slippery grass, the fear is a very real one. We've had quite a few of our players in plaster over the years to the point where we abandoned the eleven a side form of football for the more compact five a side on a less slippy artificial pitch. We don't allow slide tackles in this smaller version of the game, and our movements are more sure now thanks to the more regular surface. We make sure we use the services of artificial pitch cleaning companies to ensure the surface is in tip top condition too. At the end of the day, we just all want to have a bit of fun and keep fit at the same time - it's hard to that when your leg's in plaster!

No Work and Hot Sun is a Combination for Fun

posted on 19 April 2011

Hot summer days are the best. You always know when it's going to be a good day when you wake up with the light coming through the window and you can feel the warmth of the summer sun on your skin. On days when you don't have to work, the best thing to do is to put on your little shorts and bikini top and head out to do yard work - sometimes I even do a spot of camping in my yard with my family and the festival tents we have. You can get the beginning of your summer sun tan and also get the plants up out of the walk way. Then, time for some lemon-aide or water, and sit on the porch. It's important, after a while, to put on sun screen - you want to get color, but not burn! It comes a little at a time. Then sitting out on the screened in porch in the evenings and listen to the cicadas and read a book. What a wonderful summer day.

I Love My Fishing Just to Relax and Unwind

posted on 13 March 2011

If you have never experienced the joys of fishing, it is time that you grab your fishing gear, and get near a creek or river to try it out once. I too was apprehensive about fishing initially. I thought that it would be boring to sit with a rod near a water body waiting for hours to for a fish to be hooked. My opinion changed soon as I discovered that fishing teaches you patience and it is a great way to get relaxed. It also brings about a good deal of happiness when you catch a fish. The experience also gets funny when your line is hooked to an old shoe or cap when you wait for the fish to come out. it seems even old shoes get tempted by my carp tackle! The atmosphere becomes even more fun filled if you go out in a group for fishing. You can even have a competition among your friends and see who wins a game of fishing. I have personally enjoyed every outing for fishing

The HOV Lane Is NOT For A Leisurely Sunday Drive

posted on 26 December 2010

When it comes to being behind the wheel of an automobile, there is probably nothing worse than getting stuck behind somebody in the HOV lane who appears to be out for a Sunday afternoon pleasure drive - there is surely no worse driving experience. The whole idea of this lane, or any other lane intended for people who at least wish to go the speed limit, is to get from point A to point B as quickly and efficiently as possible. The intention is not to be stuck in the HOV lane with no way to pass the slowpoke in front of you and watch the congested traffic in the regular lanes beside you pass you by. Whenever I find myself in this situation, every mile traveled feels as though an inch of a nail is being driven deep into my skull. If people who seem to have a fear of the gas pedal get behind the wheel of a vehicle, then perhaps they should stay out of the lanes where they will impede the progress of those of us who want to get to where we are going on time.
