Need to apply for some new passportssome

I am in the process of booking a holiday for the family. The only issue we face is that the kids need passports, we have picked up the forms and stuff and are now getting the pictures and signatures sorted. It was not very clear on the prices for passports under 16 but we have now found that online so we have got that sorted too. We have never travelled with the kids before so this will be the first time, i am a bit worried about getting the passports back in time but i am sure we are leaving enough time for it, i have been told they are taking about 3 weeks at the moment and we travel in 5 so i am sure they will be ok. We will look at using the post office check and send service too to try and speed up the process. I have been told it will knock about 5 days off the application times so it is worth paying for i think. Thanks for any help offered.
